Is Creating a Face Book Fan Page Enough?

Most of the companies these days have a twitter account and a face book page. Quizzes, comments etc have become a common thing. So, can companies go a step ahead and use face book in a different and unique way to create a buzz and also to add on to the social media marketing strategy?

Today, face book has over 800 million active users across the globe. Targeting them through fan pages is very standard. Face book has an application called as face book social plugin which goes beyond the ordinary and allow your company website to have a widget on it so that marketing efforts can be even more focused and well directed. Currently there are more than 10 widgets that face book has made available for users. Here are few of them:

“Like” button is a widget which is very commonly used today by the marketers. This plugin allows the readers and viewers of your website to “like” your content. More the “likes”, more the viewers and more the popularity. This plugin allows users to share pages from your website. This helps in spreading your buzz and means more eye balls
“Send” button allows the viewers of your website to send certain content or a piece to their network of friends
One of the best plugins is the “comment” box. It enables the users, viewers and readers to post their comments so that you come to know what they think
Another interesting plugin is the “registration” plugin. This is like an interface between your website and face book. It enables users to subscribe to your website or company via their face book account itself
“Login” widget allows people to login to your website through their face book accounts. Once they log in, they can see their own profile picture and also see which other friends of their s have logged in to your website. This is a great way to relate and enhance brand awareness and identity

There are many more plugins available. Every company cannot and should not use all of them at once because it will result in chaos and brand confusion. Instead, select a few which you think suits your company`s marketing strategy the best and go ahead with those widgets!
