Companies, brands, personalities, celebrities etc. are all over the social media. But still, we tend to follow some, like some and ignore some. Why the distinction and what is the differential factor? Is someone better than others in communications? Well, that surely is a huge possibility. In today’s world, the way you communicate to the people and the what you communicate dictates who you are in the social media world!
Will the general public read anything that you post on your website or will they be selective. Research and studies show that people read and follow those whom they like and respect. This is based on what do the blogs, face book pages, tweets etc. really contain? Are they abusive, condescending and hurtful? Or are they informative, written in the best of English etc.? Chances of you getting noticed via your tweets an fan pages are much more if you are humorous, non condescending, respectful and informative.
- Never talk bad about your competitors. Readers get put off by vile comments and hurtful tweets. It lowers down the respect they have for your brand
- Many a times, readers give feed back to you. So, in your next post, do not be little or smack the people who criticized. Instead, be respectful and take it in your stride. Post the fact that their feedback is valuable and changes will be made
- Never ever tweet or scarp about confidential information about your competitors or customers. This looks extremely bad and gives a sense of distrust amongst your readers
- Be careful about uploading pictures. Seek prior permission from the concerned people. Do not take them by surprise or go against their wishes or else bad word against your company can spread easily. There by, negatively affecting your brand image
- Never use abusive language. This shows the lack of integrity and values on your part
- Do not pass on wrong information via social media. Be sure of what you are recording and writing. In case of any dire mistake, be humble and honest enough to immediately send out an apology and rectify the error
